Silver gives the team more time to settle into its own routines. Reliable paddling, thoughtful navigation and clear shared jobs help participants manage a longer journey together.
A practice expedition forms part of Silver preparation. We agree the training and practice programme with your leader, building on experience and identifying what still needs work.

Expedition outcomes depend on meeting DofE requirements and the assessment process. The wider Award remains with the participant’s DofE centre or Licensed Organisation.

Training and practice are shaped around the award level and the group’s experience. Silver and Gold require a practice expedition. Bronze preparation is agreed with the organiser.
