Introductory Paddle Board Session (adults only)

Designed to introduce adults to the basics of Paddle Boarding.

Embark on a paddle boarding adventure with our introductory taster sessions! 


Immerse yourself in an hour of expert-guided instruction, ensuring a safe and enjoyable paddle boarding experience. 


Our adult only paddle board taster sessions are designed to help you learn some basic paddle board skills, improve your confidence and to enjoy some quiet time. 


Focusing on efficient paddling techniques, alternative turning methods and personal safety.

What is included in my booking?


  • 1 hour of expert paddlesports tuition

  • Comprehensive safety briefing on land

  • A fully qualified instructor accompanying you throughout your hour-long session on the water

  • Full insurance coverage (£10 million)

  • Your paddle board and paddle

  • A buoyancy aid for added safety

Do I need any experience?

Our Taster sessions are design for those who haven't been on the water before or have very little experience. You don't need to have any previous skills to be able to take part. 


Do I have to be able to swim? 

No. We take paddlers on the water even if they cannot swim - it is a good idea to let us know when you book or arrive.

Our Camps

What would I need to bring?

All you will need is:

  • A warm change of clothes 

  • Something to wear on the water - this could just be shorts and t-shirt, as wetsuits are optional 

  • A towel 

  • A pair of shoes to wear in the water or you can hire a pair of ours (Shoes must be worn on the water)

What will my session look like?

Upon arrival, our friendly team will check that you've completed your consent forms and that your clothing is suitable for the activity. After check-in, one of our instructors will introduce themselves and run through our safety briefing. 

During your session we will then cover: 

  • Overview of paddling equipment and components. 

  • Water safety guidelines - including the importance of wearing a bouyancy aid. 

  • Demonstrations of proper paddling techniques on dry land. 

  • How to mount and dismount your chosen craft

  • Guidance on maintaining balance and proper posture whilst on the water

  • Instruction on turning and maneuvering the paddling equipment.

  • Techniques for navigating different water conditions.

  • Opportunity for participants to ask questions and seek clarification before revisiting the key points covered during the session.

Our Facilities

We have a range of facilities to enhance your experience:

  • Enjoy the refreshing ambiance of our outdoor cafe - Bean on the Water - where you can enjoy a hot or cold beverage.

  • Embrace the outdoors at our picnic benches; providing a perfect setting to sit back and watch Alverstoke lake at its best.  Additionally, our outdoor field invites guests to unwind or indulge in a picnic.  Whichever you chose, you’ll be sure to create memorable moments. 

  • Also onsite are toilets, however, our changing areas are limited.
