What’s happening?
Get ready for a full-day adrenaline-packed, family-friendly outdoor event on the shores of Gosport! Whether you’re new to adventure or a seasoned outdoor enthusiast, there’s something for you:
Kayaking, canoeing and paddle-boarding on the waterfront
Land-based thrills: archery, climbing wall, axe-throwing
Food & refreshments all day – including our bar and cocktails
Local exhibitors showcasing outdoor gear, community activity groups & youth-programmes
How it works:
Entry is free. On arrival, fill in a simple activity consent form, then purchase tokens (£1 each) to use across activities — each activity = one token. Wristbands will be issued to show you have completed the consent for so you can jump straight in.

What is the Big Adventure Event?
The Big Adventure Event celebrates outdoor activities and adventure sports each year. It caters to people of all ages, from families wanting a fun day to thrill-seekers ready for new challenges. The event features many engaging activities, workshops, and demonstrations that offer opportunities to learn new skills and connect with other outdoor lovers.
Hosted at a stunning location, the event provides a picturesque backdrop for all activities. Whether you’re interested in climbing, kayaking, or simply enjoying nature, there’s something here for everyone. Last year, over 1,000 attendees joined in, reflecting the event's growing popularity.
Preparing for the Event
What to Bring
To ensure you have a fantastic time at the Big Adventure Event, it's crucial to pack the right items. Here’s a helpful checklist:
Comfortable Clothing: Dress in layers to adapt to changing weather. Breathable and flexible clothing is best for outdoor activities.
Footwear: Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots. They are essential for climbing and obstacle course participation.
Water Bottle: Hydration is vital, so bring a reusable water bottle to keep hydrated throughout the day.
Sunscreen and Hat: Protect your skin, especially for extended outdoor periods.
Camera: Capture those precious moments! A camera or smartphone will help you document your adventures.
Getting There
Planning your trip to the event is important. Where possible please walk or cycle. Parking is free and unrestricted on the road. Alternatively, there is local car parks just a short walk from our centre. Directions to car park.

Safety First
On arrival, you will need to fill out a permission form for all the attendees that you bring. You will be given a wristband. This will allow you to have a go at the activities.
Guidelines and Regulations
Safety is paramount at the Big Adventure Event. Each activity will have specific guidelines to ensure participants enjoy their time while minimizing risks. Be sure to listen to instructors and follow all safety rules. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
First Aid
First aid stations will be available throughout the venue, staffed by trained professionals. Familiarise yourself with their locations in case of any emergencies.
